Preparing for a child’s first visit

A parent stays in the room. A short note of fever, appetite, sleep and medicines already given makes the first consultation clearer for everyone.

A parent is part of the consultation

Suraksha Homoeo Clinic welcomes children with a parent or guardian. The first visit is the child’s own case: recurring coughs, appetite, sleep, skin, or a pattern of falling ill every few weeks. Dr Prashanth Vasala includes the child in an age-appropriate way and relies on the parent for the timeline. This does not replace vaccinations, and it does not replace paediatric emergency care.

If you are booking for more than one child, each child needs a separate case. You may request back-to-back appointments and give both names when you call.

A short note is enough

You do not need a perfect diary. Three or four lines help: when the concern started, how often it returns, what medicines have already been given, and how the child is eating and sleeping. Bring any prescription or report you already have. Fever pattern, a rash, a cough that is worse at night, and anything that changed at school or at home are all relevant.

Come a few minutes early. Young children do better when the visit is not rushed at the door. Eat and drink as you normally would unless another doctor has told you otherwise. Do not stop a paediatric medicine in order to “start fresh” at the clinic.

Go to urgent care first for these signs

High fever with unusual drowsiness, poor drinking, a rash with a very sick child, fits, blue lips, or breathing difficulty need emergency care before any routine appointment. A swollen painful belly, green vomit, or a child who cannot be woken should not wait for a clinic slot. Once the acute danger has been assessed, a supportive consultation can still be discussed.

The clinic’s role for children is a careful, individual conversation with a parent present. If you want that visit, call or use the contact form, say the child’s name and age, and mention whether morning or evening is easier for your family.

Homoeopathic care should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional. Seek urgent medical care for emergencies. Information on this website is for general understanding and does not replace a personal consultation.
